God's Law And Science

The proof of the existence of God is in His laws simply because they exist at all.

There are some anti-God people who recognize that we did not have the scientific knowledge 3,600 years ago to write the laws of God. They try to use this as proof that these laws were not written before the Gutenberg press was invented. They, therefore, try to use this as a proof that these ancient scriptures were fabricated at that time and that God is, therefore, not real.

We do know that these laws were written before the Gutenberg press because they were the first thing printed on his press. We have also proved that these laws were written thousands of years ago because we have scriptures dating back that far which have these laws.

But I have even worse news for these agnostics. Yes, they are right that man did not have the scientific knowledge to write these laws 2,000 years ago much less 3,600 years ago. But we humans didn't have the scientific knowledge to write these laws at the time of Gutenberg's press and, even worse than that, we didn't have the scientific knowledge to write these laws 50 to 100 years ago. Now, we know beyond a doubt that these laws existed more than 100 years ago. As a matter of fact, we, the most scientifically educated and mature people in the history of the world, still do not have the scientific knowledge or maturity as a people to write and impose these laws on ourselves. Therefore, man could never have written these laws and they had to come from a much more intelligent, advanced, and mature being. The existence of these laws means that God must exist. Scientifically, there is no other possible answer. On this page, I will prove this.

The Proof Of God Is In His Laws

The first thing we must do is to understand the scientific situation of man from the time of the writing of these laws 3,600 years ago up to now. At the time the laws were written, the most advanced civilizations knew almost nothing about science compared with today. First, we didn't even invent the microscope until the 1600's and could not possibly have known anything about micro organisms. We are still discovering new micro organisms such as the AIDs virus. Any law that was written which pertains to micro organisms could not have been written before the beginning of the 20th Century.

We didn't discover DNA until the 1950's and are still learning about DNA and exactly what it does do and does not do. We hope to have finally mapped the human DNA by about the year 2006. Therefore, any law which pertains to DNA could not possibly have been written prior to the 1970's and up to the year 2006. Oh, you mean there may still be reasons for some of these laws that we don't know about? You bet. That is obviously because this being, God, had to be more advance and knowledgable 3,600 years ago than we are today. Think about it.

Even 2,000 years ago, we knew nothing about any possible life that was not visible to the naked eye. The people thought all diseases were caused by demons or some other super natural phenomenon. They didn't understand the cause of sexually transmitted diseases because the first symptoms don't occur until years or even decades after the person had the sex which gave them the disease.

Because of these and many other scientific reasons, man's laws prior to the laws of God were very liberal. They were based on the ignorance of man and not the intelligence of God. Sexual promiscuity and incest were very common. People ate animals which died or were effected from diseases or poisonous plants and then they died.

We humans didn't know the importance of washing our hands to prevent the spread of diseases or infections until the Korean War. Before that, doctors didn't scrub the way they do today before surgery, surgery rooms were not kept scrubbed clean, and hospitals were not kept clean. We didn't even understand that touching a dead person could cause us to get the disease they died from.

An estimated two thirds to three fourths of the soldiers who died during the First World War died because of our lack of knowledge about microbiology. They didn't know about using latrines as bath rooms to prevent the spread of disease. The soldiers urinated and defecated in the trenches they lived in and didn't remove the bodies of other dead soldiers. They actually used their bodies as part of the trenches or stood on them to fight. Even today around the world, one of the biggest killers of people in Third World Countries are the organisms which cause disease and originate in the human body. When I was stationed in Thailand during Viet Nahm, there was an out break of Cholera on the Mekong River which was caused by people urinating and defecating in the river and people down stream drinking the water. The epidemic was so bad that there were over 350 people dying per day in Thailand and that did not include the people dying in the other three countries the Mekong goes through. Most of the people around the world still don't know enough about science to know any better.

Do you really think that people would sit down and write laws if they don't understand the reason for those laws and then impose those laws on themselves? Of course not. Even with the people in the US having the best ever understanding of the science behind these laws in the history of man, we resist and rebel against laws that we know should be enforced. We know that the chemicals in tobacco kill us and we still ingest the stuff. We know about the MANY incurable and terminal sexually transmitted diseases and still insist on having promiscuous sex. We know about the effects of the pollutants we put in our air, water, and soil and still put them there. We know much more about the science behind the laws and still refuse to impose them on ourselves because of our lack of scientific maturity. We are an immature and irresponsible species and you expect me to believe that we would impose laws on ourselves which we didn't even understand? Yeah, right! As a species, we are so immature and irresponsible that we can't even get half of the people working in restaurants to wash their hands before handling our food. Most people in the US still don't wash their hands after using the bathroom. Most of us just don't care if we give other people our diseases and we know better.

The Laws

In God's laws, He tells us that if a bull gores someone and kills them, the animal is to be killed BUT NOT EATEN. Why can't we eat it? It's good meat and these people surely couldn't afford to waste good meat out in the middle of the desert. We now know that there are diseases and plant toxins which will cause a bull to "go mad" and gore people and that, if we eat that meat, the disease or toxin will also kill us. You know, like the ban on meat from cows which have the mad cow disease. 3,600 years ago they didn't know these things so why would they write such a law? They didn't, God did.

God's law tells us that, after we have touched a dead person or animal, we are to wash and separate ourselves from the other people. We now know that this cleaning and quarantine is necessary to prevent the spread of diseases from those dead people or animals. They didn't know this, why would they write such a law? They didn't, God did.

God's law tells us that we are not supposed to commit incest. We have learned in the last 50 years that, because of genetics, incest causes birth defects and retardation in the off spring. They didn't know that and incest was and still is quite common place around the world. Why would they write such a law when everyone else was committing incest? They didn't, God did.

At a time when promiscuity was very common place, God's law tells us not to commit adultery. This is probably the most telling of all of His laws because, knowing better, we still insist on committing adultery. Hey, it's good, it's fun, and they didn't know about the micro organisms which cause sexually transmitted diseases. Why would they write such a law? They didn't, God did.

God's law tells us how to build a latrine and where to put it 3,600 years before millions of soldiers died because they didn't know about or even why they should build a latrine AND they didn't live by God's law. How could people 3,600 years ago have possibly known how to build a latrine and where to put it? They didn't, God did.

We didn't discover until sometime in the 1950's that the life of an organism is in the blood. God told us this 3,600 years ago and said that is why we are not to eat the blood of an animal. This was a very common practice in other religions and still is in many today. Why would these people write such a law? They didn't, God did. But this goes even further. Science tells us that there is a double meaning to the phrase that the life of an organism is in its blood. The first meaning is the one referred to above which is that the very life forces which cause life are in the blood.

The other meaning has to do with micro organisms which shorten life such as the eggs of parasites, viruses, and bacteria. You see, these organisms limit the life of the organism and are, therefore, the outer limits for the life of the organism. In those days and, to a considerable extent, even today, people did not properly cook their food. If you don't cook your food well enough to kill these organisms, they will kill you. It was very difficult to cook their meat properly over camp fires and many people did and still do prefer partially cooked or even raw meat. Draining the blood from the animal before eating it decreased their chances of getting the diseases and parasites. Drinking the blood puts these organisms in your blood. These people didn't know that and could not have possibly written this law, God did.

Then they were not to eat certain animals such a pork. We now know that, because of the eating habits of pigs, they have lots of parasites such as heart and liver worms which destroy our internal organs and brains. The people back then could not properly cook their meat so God told them not to eat certain species. How could these people have known why not to eat such good tasting meats and why would they impose such laws on themselves? They didn't, God did.

You see, God gave man these laws because He loves us and cares for us. These laws were meant for our own good, not to punish us. If we don't live by His laws, we will pay the price. Science tells us we will and what the price will be.

The most important thing here is that these laws could not have ever been written by man. Not 50 years ago or 3,600 years ago. We know that these laws have existed for thousands of years and since man could not possibly have written these laws. It is also important to understand that these laws went against the customs of the day. We know that people don't write or accept laws that go against their customs without valid reason. Man could not and would not have written these laws. Then who wrote these laws? The author had to be someone who was very knowledgable, advanced, and mature. There had to be a much more advanced being who gave us these laws and imposed them on us. That person was God.
