I have done a lot of waiting, watching, listening, and research into Trump withdrawing US troops from Syria and, based on what I currently know, the following is the most probably.
First, Erdogan is a power mad psycho who sees himself as the sultan of a revived Ottoman (Muslim) Empire to unite all Muslims and conquer the world and has maneuvered himself into a temporary position where no one, not even the US, dares to try and stop him. Erdogan is hoping he can conquer enough of Syria and Iraq to get the rest of the Muslim nations like Iran, Pakistan, and others to unite behind him to form a global Muslim Caliphate with Erdogan as their Caliph or leader to conquer the Middle East and then the world before anyone can stop him.
You will see that Erdogan has stacked the deck before he started his invasion into Syria. Also know that Turkey has played a bunch of war games as training with the US and the EU and knows how most of our troops operate.
As far as the US is concerned, Erdogan can quickly and easily grab hundreds of US troops, dozens of US aircraft, and 60 variable yield nukes at the Incirlik NATO air base in Turkey to hold hostage, he knows the US doesn't have enough troops and firepower in the area to stop his invasion of Syria and it will take the US at least a few months to a year to mount an operation that could stop Erdogan. Therefore, Erdogan knows that Trump has to pull back the few troops he has near the border (initially only 50 troops) and even more troops (now about 1,000) as Erdogan advances further into Syria in what the military calls a tactical retreat to save the US troops' lives.
The US has to find a way to get her troops, planes, and nukes out of Incirlik as soon as possible and that ain't going to be easy. It will take a massive special operations mission, which will take time, possibly months, to plan, organize, and start and Erdogan knows it. You can bet Incirlik is on lock down.
As far as the EU is concerned, they also have troops and planes in Incirlik that can be taken hostage, don't want Erdogan to grab the US nukes, and have limited troops in Syrian that can also be easily over run by Erdogan's invasion plus Erdogan has threatened Europe that, if they interfere, Erdogan will turn lose millions more immigrants to invade Europe and cause chaos plus you know some of those "immigrants" will be insurgent terrorists to disrupt Europe from within. You also have to know that Erdogan has already sent at least tens of thousands of insurgent terrorist "immigrants" into Europe to tie down most of Europe's troops trying to save their own nations because of their upper class trash lefty stupidity and/or treason, you know, that great sounding stupid open borders thingy. Yeah, he has insurgents in the US too thanks to our treasonous lefties.
As far as Russia is concerned, Putin knows that, if he attacks Turkey, a member of NATO, it could start a war between the NATO nations and Russia and Erdogan can do any of the above to the US and other NATO nations for force us to fight against Russia.
Add to this that Erdogan recently armed himself with Russian S-300 SAMs and Russia's best aircraft. (Be careful who you sell weapons to, people.) Gee, I wonder why Trump stoped the sale of F-35s to Turkey?
A number of US sources are now saying that Erdogan and his people told a number of different US officials, including President Trump, that Erdogan was definitely going to invade Syria so the US better get her troops out of the way or Erdogan would over run and kill them. Because of this, Trump began "withdrawing" those troops to save their lives and buy the Pentagon time to ramp up for war against Turkey, which will take at least 6 to 12 months and Erdogan knows it.

"U.S. troops in northern Syria came under artillery fire from Turkish positions on Friday but none were wounded, the Pentagon said, an incident that highlights the risks to U.S. troops as Turkey wages an offensive against U.S.-allied Kurdish militia.
"The explosion occurred within a few hundred meters of a location outside the Security Mechanism zone and in an area known by the Turks to have U.S. forces present," Navy Captain Brook DeWalt, a Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement."
Erdogan shelling the US troops was Erdogan sending the US a message that "you better move those troops or I will kill them", so Trump moved them.
Then I found out that Russia has brokered a deal between Syria and the Kurds for Syrian troops to move into their area and take over to keep Turkey from invading and murdering lots of Kurds, which Erdogan is already doing.
Also, Syrian troops supported by Russian troops and air power are now moving to intercept, stop, and drive Erdogan from the Area placing US troops between Erdogan's troops and Syria's troops, which is causing Trump to withdraw even more US troops even faster. Trump has to get our people out of the way as quickly as possible before he can begin working on stopping Turkey and Erdogan knows it.
This is going to get much, much worse before it gets better.

Remember that I told you that, after Nazi Germany failed, the Nazi upper class trashed changed their names to communists and started using Stalin and the Soviet Union to set up their Marxist global dictatorship and, when that failed, they changed their names to globalists, set up the EU to establish their Marxist global dictatorship and now that that has failed, are these Marxist globalists working with Erdogan to set up the revived Ottoman Empire as the head of the Muslim global Caliphate to set up their global dictatorship? Are these upper class trash about to stage violent Muslim coups against the Western governments to set up their globalist dictatorship, you know, since their impeaching Trump thingy is failing? Will this lead to the Battle of Ezekiel 38 & 39? Believe me yet that Turkey, not Russia, is Gog and Magog?
Remember that the power mad upper class trash converted to Islam in 2012, are closet Muslims, and they will do anything for power and their global dictatorship, baby. History proves that the only thing that can stop these human demons is death.
Note that Turkey has the 8th most powerful military in the world and will easily crush Syria or force her to join him (Erdogan has already made nice with Iran) and even Russia doesn't have enough troops in Syrian to stop Erdogan. Russia will also probably have to withdraw her troops to save them.
After the Battle of Ezekiel 38 & 39, will Russia end up invading and taking over Turkey, reviving "Constantinople" for the Russian Christian Orthodox Church and returning her cathedrals to her to achieve sainthood (St Vladimir II), and giving Russia control of the Bosporus Straits for control of entry and exit for the Black Sea?
Putin stands to gain a lot from this.
Our next war could easily be in Turkey or with Turkey. Erdogan is out of his mind with his insane Napoleonic complex about him being the next sultan of the revived Ottoman Empire and ruling the world. This guy is completely unhinged. Note that the recent Ottoman Empire, which ended following WWII, was the last Muslim Caliphate and worked with Hitler to set up a global dictatorship. Keep an eye on this.
